Johnollie was born in Harlem, New York. He made his acting debut in the sixth grade when his landed the role of "Dodger" in the play "Oliver Twist". From there he attended A. Philip Randolph, where he first started taking acting seriously. He first appeared on New York Undercover (1994). His breakthrough came with the indie film Fat Chance (2001).
